PRS announce price freeze

PRS for Music has confirmed that production music rates for 2010 will be frozen at 2009 prices. The annual Production Music Rate Card offers good news for businesses requiring music for their products, productions or services.

In addition to the price freeze, a brand new tariff for music used in corporate and promotional videos will be introduced. Alongside the established tier of £35 per 30 second clip (or part thereof), producers will be able to roll all music clips or cues together, using as much production music as they like, for a one-off fee of £250 per production. This includes online usage, unlimited copies and worldwide rights in perpetuity.

“Being able to deliver blanket agreements, pre-cleared for any type of usage with the added bonus of affordability and versatility is exactly what our customers need and want” says Paul Clements, Licensing Director

MCPS (part of the PRS for Music group) represents over 160 production music libraries including their 500,000+ tracks and sound effects. “If the customer can't find a suitable piece of music from that collection, then it simply doesn’t exist” says Clements.
