Lights, camera... 26seconds
26seconds is a collaboration between the IVCA and 26. 26 is a diverse group of people who share a love of words, and believe their potential is hugely underestimated. 26 has a long standing relationship with the London Design Festival and in association with IVCA has developed a proposal for this year’s event in September.
Members of 26 and the IVCA will pair up to create a 26-second film on a subject of their choice, with the broad aim of influencing attitudes or changing behaviour. It could be anything from a minor annoyance to a personal obsession to a major international debate. Techniques could span animation, CGI, documentary, drama – every option is up for grabs.
The films will be shown as part of an installation at the London Design Festival, as well as having a life far beyond that. It's a chance to meet people from other disciplines, play a part in a high-profile creative project, and maybe even change the world a little.
The whole thing will kick off with a 'speed-dating' launch; a chance for members of IVCA and 26 to meet up, talk about the project, and break off into natural pairings. We particularly want members who are not London-centric or who live abroad to take part and will help set up virtual partnerships. The launch will take place at 6pm on Wednesday 19 May, at Elmwood (8-9 Carlisle Street, London W1D 3BP – Map).
If you are interested in taking part in this innovative project, you can register your interest by emailing marco@ivca.org, including a 26 word biography. You can also join our LinkedIn Group.
The deadline for completing the film is 13 August 2010.
