IVCA UK-China Programme

Two new seminars announced

The IVCA UK-China Programme continues to go from strength to strength, with support not only from UK Government and various regional development associations, but also from Chinese Government and leading authorities in Chinese communications. We hope to be able to bring to the UK as part of the UK-China Seminar at the offices of the China Britain Business Council one of the most senior advisors to Shanghai Government. As host to the 2010 Shanghai Expo, the city is now seeking to improve the quality of communication not only as an entity in itself, but also of the many national and international businesses which are based there. There are now clear opportunities for UK creatives to partner with their counterparts in China to work with Chinese businesses who see the west as new potential business markets and locations. Our extensive year one programme of seminars and informative events have revealed that the most potential-filled step forward for IVCA Members is to seek partnership not directly with Chinese business, but more so with the equivalent communicators in China who know the market well, but seek guidance and creative help on producing communications ready for the western world.

We are delighted to offer year 2 of the programme, which will provide the chance to progress this business development opportunity, firstly with a seminar held in the very headquarters of UK-China relations - the China Britain Business Council, then with a seminar based on the cultural and business etiquette differences - the knowledge of which is crucial in Chinese business - and thirdly the opportunity to join us in Shanghai for one week at the Shanghai Expo 2010. The IVCA - supported by UK Government - have created a week long trade mission which will include the opportunity for IVCA Members to make one-to-one contact with their counterparts in China in order to attempt to create these essential business partnerships. There will also be the opportunity to meet other Chinese creatives and to organize one-to-one business meetings directly with Chinese businesses. With the business world focused on Shanghai Expo 2010 it is certainly the place to be to create new business relationships.
