2009 IVCA LiveCom Award Winners Announced

London, 11th December 2009. The International Visual Communications Association (IVCA) is delighted to announce the winners of the 2009 IVCA LiveCom Awards held in association with the drpgroup. Launched four years ago with the support of UK Trade & Investment, the awards recognise excellence in the live event and experiential marketing sectors both in the UK and internationally.
Winners and highly commended were awarded across ten categories for UK Events with Brent Council picking up two awards for best Cultural and Arts Event and best Festival for Brent Diwali 2009; the BBC with production company Imagination scooping the prize for best Sporting Event for BBC Sports Personality of the Year 2008; and Sainsbury’s and production company drpgroup and the Department for Children, Schools and Families with Crown Business Communications sharing the top spot in the best Seminar and Conference category for their ‘Parent Know How Launch and Showcase Event’ and the ‘Sainsbury’s Our Conference ‘09’ respectively.
On the International Events side Procter and Gamble with production company Jack Morton Worldwide took home the top accolade in the Commercial and Promotion category for the ‘Wella International Trend Vision Award 2009’ whilst the judges rewarded both Thomas Cook and drpgroup for the ‘Thomas Cook Inspiration Conference’ and Orange and Acclaim Events & Media Communications for the ‘Orange Partner Camp’ in the best Internal Experience category.
This year the awards received a record number of entries – up 27% on 2008 and attendance at the ceremony and gala lunch held at The Brewery in London was up by 37%. “We were delighted with the number and level of entries we received for this years’ LiveCom Awards and firmly believe that despite the tough economic climate, clients from both the public and private sectors are continuing to invest


in live events and experiential marketing campaigns as they recognise the added value and significant commercial return on investment that can be achieved through such activity.  This year’s awards have helped cement the UK’s position as the global centre of excellence for live and experiential events.” commented Marco Forgione, Chief Executive of the IVCA. “All winners from the LiveCom Awards will be entered into the annual IVCA Awards which will take place in March 2010 where the Best UK and Best International Events awards will be up for grabs!”
