IVCA/Briffa Seminar - Rights Ownership and Clearance - a legal perspective

Only a few places now remain on the Rights Ownership and Clearance Seminar, hosted and supported by BRIFFA, on Thursday 10th July at the Business Design Centre, 52 Upper Street, London N1 OQH. The seminar will cover many of the copyright and IPR issues facing the industry today, including Clearance Issues (copyright and the limits of the defences of incidental inclusion and fair dealing); Non IP Clearance (defamation, obscenity, contempt of court, incitement to racial/religious hatred); Release Forms (data protection and performer's rights); Getting Permission (finding rights owners and agreeing terms); Rights Ownership (the importance of freelancer agreements); Delivery and Ownership of Materials (ownership of rushes and transfer of rights to client). The seminar will also be an opportunity to meet new IVCA Chief Executive Marco Forgione who will be at the event.
Already a good number of senior level members have booked into this seminar which commences at 6.15pm and is followed by networking/drinks between 7.30pm and 8.30pm. Cost is 25.00 inc vat per member attending. This is a Members' Only Event. Please note that bookings may only be made via the IVCA and not through Briffa.
