Celebrating Creativity and Effectiveness in Live Events and Experiential Marketing

IVCA LiveCom Awards recognise creative and effective communication through live events and experiential marketing campaigns delivered both domestically and overseas.

All winners are automatically entered into the 'Best Event of the Year - LiveCom' category for the 2013 IVCA Awards.

Categories

UK Events For events delivered in the UK

1. Internal Experience
For the effective use of live events to communicate specific goals and messages to an organisation’s internal audience. This includes, but is not limited to, employee communications, motivational projects and training.

2. Cultural and Arts
For events produced by and for establishments within the cultural and arts sectors, including galleries, libraries, local authorities and community organisations.

3. Heritage
For events produced by and for museums and heritage organisations.

4. Sporting Events
For an event with a central sporting theme, whether it be entertainment, demonstrative or competitive in purpose.

5. Festivals
For multi-feature events in a festival setting, with the specific task of entertaining its audience.

6. Live Music
For the creative production of a live music event around any genre(s), providing a fully engaging occasion for all attendees.

7. Learning Experience
For exhibition projects and environments designed for educational/informational purposes.

8. Commercial and Promotion
For the creation of outstanding environments designed to promote goods or services including trade shows, stores, and roadshows, as demonstrated through clear metrics e.g. ROI, sales results, membership, donations or new business.

9. Campaigns
For the use of live events created to generate awareness for a cause, project, or charity without the specific target of generating revenue, which should otherwise be entered into Commercial and Promotion.

10. Seminars and Conferences
For events targeting internal and/or external audiences.


International Events
For events delivered outside of the UK

11. Internal Experience
For the effective use of live events to communicate specific goals and messages to an internal audience. This includes, but is not limited to, employee communications, motivational projects, seminars, conferences and training events.

12. Seminars and Conferences
For events targeting internal and/or external audiences.

13. Entertainment Experience
For the creation of an experience or event whose purpose is to entertain members of the public. Entries could include, but are not restricted to, themed rides and theme park entertainments, immersive theatrical experiences, festivals and cultural events.

14. Commercial and Promotion
For the creation of outstanding environments designed to promote goods or services including trade shows, stores and roadshows, as demonstrated through clear metrics e.g. ROI, sales results, membership, donations or new business.

15. Campaigns
For the use of live events created to generate awareness for a cause, project, or charity without the specific target of generating revenue, which should otherwise be entered into Commercial and Promotion.


Special Events Submissions for these categories may have been delivered in the UK or overseas

16. Award for Innovation
For outstanding innovation in live event content or support technology.

17. Award for Motivation and Inspiration
For live events designed to motivate, inspire or reward internal and/or external audiences.

 
Entry Rules

1. The IVCA has the right to refuse late entries.
2. Projects entered should either be on-going or have a specific relevance to the period April 2011 to October 2012.
3. Projects may be entered into more than one category.
4. Responsibility for entering the correct category lies solely with the entrant.
5. Entries must not have been entered into previous IVCA LiveCom Awards (not including the 2012 IVCA Awards or 2012 IVCA Clarion Awards).
6. All films/audio (where applicable) must be uploaded at the time of submission, except where paying for the upload service (extra charge is £25 per film).
7. Additional and supporting materials must be supplied digitally. Materials submitted by post will not be reviewed by the judges.
8. Websites and online entries will require a full URL address and any necessary usernames and passwords.
9. There must be no mention in the written part of entry as to who produced the project, except where the production company may also be the client. All credits must be removed from films and where possible, any supplementary materials submitted, including file names.
10. In the interest of judging, entrants are advised not to link to films/projects which require lengthy downloading (more than 5 minutes) and should submit their films via the upload link in ‘Step 2’ of the entry site.
11. Responsibility for the technical quality of the film and/or any supporting materials lies with the entrant.
12. Defective entries will automatically be disqualified.
13. The judges will disqualify an entry if insufficient or incorrect information is given on the form.
14. Entries must either be in English, subtitled in English or accompanied by an English translation.
15. All projects must have been cleared for copyright. The IVCA assumes this has been undertaken.
16. Unless stated otherwise by the entrant, material for award-winning entries will be kept by the IVCA for use at IVCA events, screenings and on the IVCAplayer.
