Hélène Alexander
The Champion Award is presented to Helena Alexander for a lifetime’s dedication to research, conservation, education, and in particular making accessible to a broad public, understanding of an important art form. Mrs Alexander has used communications to extend the reach and impact of her curatorship and to provide true access to a world status collection of great beauty, importance and cultural significance. She is universally respected and admired for her work, her generosity and her humanity. As such she is a true, “ keeper of the flame”.
Andrew Vickerman
As a leading figure in global business, Andrew Vickerman has made a major and profound contribution to corporate social responsibility and sustainable development. A highly regarded development economist and academic, he has also worked as an economic advisor to government and as a consultant for the World Bank and United Nations agencies. Central to his achievements has been his natural ability as a communicator which has made his vision for sustainable development both engaging intellectually rigorous. He receives the IVCA Champion Award for his mission, his commitment and his outstanding use of communications, produced by some of the UK’s leading companies, to make real his vision of a better society.
Ian Talbot
Ian Talbot is one of the truly great figures of the English stage and someone who embodies the values central to the Clarion Awards. As actor, director and impressario, he has brought the best of theatre to the broadest possible audiences. His Shakespearean repertoire is formidable, but is as equally at home in Run for Your Wife as he is in Dr Who. As a Director, his credits are endless. Outside of the theatre he is renowned for his support of many causes. He teaches at the Actor's Centre and chairs both the Equity Trust Fund and the Interact-Reading Service. Today's Champion Award is presented to acknowledge his outstanding achievements, the opportunities he has given so many actors, young and old, and his sheer and consummate professionalism.
